Evaluating Jimmy Garoppolo and a 32 QB ranking.

Alright, so last night was obviously kinda doodoocheeks, Jimmy. Not what anyone wanted to see. However, it's worth remembering that Jimmy G was up against a very good pass defense that had only improved throughout the year.

Obviously Mahomes and Reid decided to clutch up and Jimmy/Shanny decided to not run the ball, and also abandon play action, and also abandon hitting George Kittle for whatever reason, but let's not forget that through 3 quarters, Jimmy Garoppolo outplayed Mahomes. This is not to say that he's better, because there is a fourth quarter, but with semi-competent clock management skills, the 9ers win and it's too little from Mahomes too late. I'll be making a thread on this later.

As I'll also be pointing out again later, this super bowl played out a lot like super bowl 51 on a small scale. Brady is obviously better than Ryan (though Brady was NOT the MVP of that game), but Ryan outplayed Brady for most of that game and it's not really his fault he lost. Matt Ryan remains a top tier, elite QB in my view, as does Jimmy G. Anyone who can go toe to toe with the best in the playoffs, even if they lose, is up there.
