There's alot of things they SHOULD do that they won't. They have already clearly communicated (with that worthless excuse of a "playoff promo") that they have already mailed it in for this year.
Step 1 would be a divison of labor among the team. Whether that's expanding the current roster of devs (not likely, they'd have to pay them) or having 2 alternating teams where one works on the even numbered year titles and the other the odd years. That would stop the "we're working on 21 already so we have to slow down here" excuses. They won't do that though. Both would cost them money and they make loads as is. Why fix what, in their eyes, isn't broken?
Until that changes madden will never be about the players.
